A Saints Row reboot is being worked on, and it will be released soon.

We can safely say we’re interested to see where Volition  will take the series as this is the first original title since the wacky Saints Row 4 was released back in 2013. The fact that this is a reboot rather than a sequel means that there are new characters, a new setting, and a ton of customisation options.

It’s safe to assume that Volition isn’t planning to hold back since the game is marketed as “the biggest and best Saints Row World ever created” with a “wild, larger-than-life sandbox of thrilling side hustles, criminal ventures, and blockbuster missions.” Based on what we’ve seen so far, including in a hands-off Saints Row preview, we have the impression that this game seeks to both honour and forge a new path while maintaining the absurdity of earlier games in the series while balancing it with elements that are a little more realistic.

The August release date for Saints Row is quickly approaching, but if you simply cannot wait to play the game, you can already create your character in Saints Row Boss Factory, a free and feature-rich character creator.

Saints Row Reboot: Release Date and Available Platforms

On August 23, 2022, the Saints Row reboot will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.

The original release date for Saints Row was February 25, 2022. The reboot, according to developer Volition, was postponed to give more time for development, which was revealed in November 2021.

According to Jim Boone, Chief Creative Officer of Volition, “Our priority is to create the best Saints Row game yet. If we released on the original date, it wouldn’t be up to the standards we’ve set ourselves, that you’re expecting, and that you deserve.” “The team simply needs more time to fully realize our vision; aside from improving the game’s overall quality and polish, not much will change in the near future.

Since everyone quickly adapted to the working from home arrangement, we underestimated the impact COVID would have on our schedule. Nonetheless, we all continued to be incredibly productive.

But it’s become clear that we need to give our team more time to hone their craft if we want to make the best game possible given the size and scope of our new Saints Row.
